What do Zero Energy Homes Mean to you?
When you compare our ZEH to the current market, our homes are anywhere from $200 to $300 per month less.
Solar Electric Rebates (Photovoltaic Rebates)
Florida, like other states, has a $4/watt rebate. This means if we install a 5kw system on your house you get a check for $20,000. Plus there is a federal tax rebate of up to $2,000.
Solar Hot Water Rebates
Florida has a $500 rebate and the Federal tax rebate is up to $2,000.
All totaled the rebates equal $24,500.
When you purchase one of our homes you will have two choices:
- Buy the home and keep the $24,500 in rebates to buy furniture or anything else you may need. Your total monthly expense would still be about $50 per month less with our home. In other words you pay $50/month less to live in our home and the government pays you $24,500 to do it.
- Buy the home and put the rebates towards the principle. In this scenario you would save around $200/month in mortgage and utilities over a comparable home.
When figuring these numbers we did not take the highest price comparable homes and use them in our calculations. We always took the least expensive 3 or 4 recent sales and averaged them. You would have to find a home that was $30k to $40k less then the cheapest home sold in order to be a comparable monthly expense to ours.
